Ne-Yo Leaves Def Jam, Signs With Motown Records / by

New year, new rules? If you don't believe it, then Ne-Yo does. The singer just completed his contrack with long time label Def Jam and has singed a nice new deal with Motown Records. Not only did he make that switch, but he was also appointed to Senior VP of A&R.

He will also be bringing his private label Compound Entertainment into the mix. His new role will consist of him producing and mentoring current artists on the label and helping develop newer artists as they role in. Check out what he had to say after the break.

He's currently preparing his fifth studio album called "The Cracks in Mr. Perfect". It will be his first album from the label  and it's due out this summer. He currently has a smash hit movie in the box office right now called "Red Tails" and he'll be featured on season two of "The Voice". We wish him all the best! He's doing the damn thing in 2012.
