Celine Dion Slams Whitney Houston & Says Drugs Killed Her / by

It looks like singer Celine Dion hasn't wasted any time in determining the cause of Whitney Houston's death. Forget the corner's toxicology report. The singer spoke with Good Morning America over the phone where she concluded that drugs killed the legendary singer.

She pointed out some of the good, but mostly the bad about Whitney saying things like "the love of drugs was bigger than the love of her family" and that "She's afraid of show business due to drugs". Watch the clip below, and for those of you that like to read, an article is attached as well.

Celine Dion doesn’t need a coroner’s report to know the official cause of Whitney Houston’s death.
Speaking to “Good Morning America” via phone Monday, the Canadian singer undoubtedly pinned Houston’s untimely death on drug abuse.

"Whitney has been an amazing inspiration for me,” Dion, 43, told host Robin Roberts. "It's just really unfortunate that drugs, bad people, bad influences took over her dreams, her motherhood."
Dion, 43, acknowledged the control drugs can have on a person, particular celebrities and entertainers in the music industry.

“When you think about Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse, to get into drugs like that, for whatever reason,” she said. “Is it because of the stress and bad influence? What happens when you have everything? What happens when you have love, support, the family, motherhood? You have responsibilities of a mother and then something happens and it destroys everything.”

Because of that fear, Dion admits Houston’s tragic death is a cautionary tale.
“I am so scared. I’m scared of show business. I’m scared of drugs. I’m scared of hanging out,” said the singer, who is the mother of three sons.
“That’s why I don’t do parties and I don’t hang out. That’s why I’m not part of show business. We have to be afraid.”

Houston was found dead Saturday in her fourth-floor suite at the Beverly Hilton getting ready for the famous Clive Davis pre-Grammys party downstairs.
A fatal cocktail of prescription drugs and booze killed the 48-year-old singer before she became submerged in a bathtub, the singer’s relatives reportedly were told.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office does not believe the “I Will Always Love You” star drowned, contrary to earlier reports suggesting she slumped beneath the water in a drug-induced stupor, TMZ.com reported Monday.

Coroner’s officials told Houston’s family the onetime queen of pop did not have enough water in her lungs to suggest she drowned and was likely dead already.

An autopsy was performed Sunday, but the results of a toxicology test are likely to take several weeks. There was no evidence of foul play.
Houston leaves behind a daughter, 18-year-old Bobbi Kristina, with her ex-husband, singer Bobby Brown.

“She’s had a family. So what happens?” Dion said on “GMA.” “How come it’s stronger than all that? Stronger than family, than motherhood, than love itself? What’s going on?”
“Taking pills to go perform and taking pills to wake up and taking pills to go to bed. It’s so unfortunate,” she said.

“I’ve always said you have to have fun and do music and you can never be part of show business because you don’t what it’s going to get yourself into. You have to do your work and get out of there.”

Alright, where do I begin. First I will say that I love Celine Dion, but I did not expect her to utter any of the words that she said. Do I dislike her after the fact? No I do not, but I am very disappointed that she said such things. Yes, the world knew about Whitey's drug problem. They we're illegal drugs at that. Whitney told Oprah in an interview that she had been clean for quite sometime back in 2009. The drugs found in Whitney's hotel over the weekend we're prescription. She had problems over the past week with a sore throat and anxiety.  So her doctor gave her medicine that she took daily. So yes she "may" have died from drugs, but not the kind of drugs that Celine was making them out to be. That's not the image that Whitney's family wants her to be known for. Look at all of the singers she inspired over the years, all of the doors she's opened, all of the music she made, video, movies, awards, photos, magazines and much much much more. Almost over three decades worth of accolades and entertainment, and all Celine can focus on are drugs?  Get real.
