I just realized that I haven't brought you one of these for quite a while now. So here is another edition of "The Best You've Never Heard". This time, you will get a listen to one a hot track from Rita Ora's debut album "Ora". You will also take a trip down memory lane with Britney Spears and her "Circus" era. Last but not least is our main man Usher from his album "8701".
"Young, Single & Sexy" is the name of the track from Rita that you will hear. From Britney, it will be "My Baby" and on the Usher side, it will be the highly over looked "Can U Help Me?". All of these songs are great ones, I listen to them almost everyday. Get into it below..
Ora"...So, as you may know by now, I'm a HUGE fan of Stargate productions and they produced a few cuts on this album. One in particular that I love is called "Young, Single & Sexy". The production has the signature guitar that Stargate is known for using. I've heard some people call this song "safe", "typical" and what not, but I love it. I think it's actually single material. She declares her independence in this song and her vocals are stellar. I love the way she sings! I think I've listened to the song nearly 100 times by now because I just can't get enough of it. Listen to it below.
Britney Spears, the new X-Factor judging queen. I love watching her on the show. She cracks me up. It just tickles me watching her tell people "NO!". But I digress. A lot of you love Britney the performer. You know, when she dances (or used to) her ass off and work up sweats with the killer abs and wet blonde hair. Well, that's not the Britney I liked. Nope, it sure isn't. I like Britney...the singer. I love the "Sometimes" Britney, the "Lucky" Britney, the Walmart driven "I'm Not A Girl..." Britney. I love her ballads and I love her voice when she sings. Which is why I love this song you are about to hear. It's called "My Baby". I think that she was talking about her baby boys within the lyrics as it stats off with her singing about "tiny hands". It's so personal and so deep...almost like a lullaby. It's lifted from her "Circus" album and was produced by Guy Sigsworth. I read some where that the song was birthed by her just sitting down at a piano and just started singing from the heart. Listen to it below.
Usher! Yup, this album was just so HOT back in 2001....and it still is. "8701"...it's definitely one of his greatest projects. I played this album over and over again as well as Aaliyah's because they both we're out in the Summer and we're packed with jams. However, this one song I seem to have never, ever made it to until a few years ago. I think back then, I always skipped passed it because it sounded old and boring. But as the years passed and I grew fund of piano driven ballads, I paid more attention and actually sat to listen to this song from start to finish. I was like "how in the hell did I NOT listen to this song!?!" It was produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, both of them are well known and associated with Janet...miss Jackson if ya nasty! But yeah, I listened to it and just fell in love with it. Home boy was pouring his heart. I remember my beautiful cousin Sy Michelle (follow her on Twitter) head me listening to it one day and she was like "Dimp-a-lus THIS....IS MY SONG!!" I was like "I know right, it's I just heard it like two hours ago!!" She was like "BOY YOU TOO LATE!!" lol. Gotta love her. But check out the song below...hopefully you'll like it just as much as we do.
I miss doing these and I'll try my best to do more of them!! I hope you enjoyed! Share your thoughts below.
