As I reported earlier, Beyoncé has threw in the towel on her staring role in Clint Eastwood's remake of the classic film "A Star Is Born". The singer was set to star in the film which was supposed to begin production in 2011 but was put on hold due to her pregnancy. Some feel that this is why she's dropping out completely this time.
In the downtime, Eastwood took on the starring role and promotion of another film. Another reason would be that the leading male role has yet to be cast as well. With the upcoming projects that she is about to take on, she couldn't commit due to a heavy booked schedule. Check out the article below.
With the male lead still up in the air, helmer Clint Eastwood's "A Star Is Born" remake is facing another challenge as Beyonce Knowles has fallen out of the project. Warner Bros. had no comment, but sources said her schedule was already packed and that without a set start date the scheduling became too complicated for the singer.Source: Variety
Knowles was set to play the role Barbra Streisand last limned in the 1976 version as the promising young performer who falls in love with an older fading star, played by Kris Kristofferson in that version. Jon Peters, Bill Gerber and Basil Iwanyk are producing the remake, with Will Fetters penning the most recent script.
Production had to push due to Beyonce's pregnancy and Eastwood took an acting gig on "Trouble With the Curve" during the hiatus. Studio insiders said that with Knowles now off the project, there has been interest, at least from Eastwood's end, in jazz musician Esperanza Spaulding. Sources emphasized, though, that until the male lead is locked, no discussions or offers will be out to the female lead.
Eastwood has approached a number of top male stars about playing the fading star, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale, Johnny Depp and, most recently, Bradley Cooper. Though there is no offer out to Cooper at this time, there's still a possibility he could come onboard, though Cooper, too, has a busy skid. He is currently filming "The Hangover III" with plans to move onto David O. Russell's untitled pic after the shoot is finished.
Well, I can say that I didn't see that one coming. Remember back in February when I reported that she was working on a few new projects for this year, many thought that one of them would have been the soundtrack for the film...but it looks like we can cross that off of our list.
Now that the year is nearly done, I think those two projects for her was the Revel Resort concerts and the "I Was Here" video. I think that she is done for 2012 and is in the studio working on new music for her new album which will definitely be out next year.
Do I think she's pregnant? No! I find it funny because everyone who is saying she's pregnant are the same people that said she DIDN'T have her baby Blue Ivy. So why would you say that she is pregnant now, but last year you said and believed in your heart and soul that she had a surrogate?
So I think she just simply pulled out of the film because it looks like it's on hold until god knows when. Since she's bringing out a new album next year, she's going to need all the time in the world to promote it so that it won't end up like "4"lop. She's in the studio as we speak!
