If you missed this larger than life special, then don't fret, I've got you covered. Last night, a special aired on CBS to celebrate the life and legacy of the late great Whitney Houston who died back in February. "We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Solute to Whitney Houston" was the name of the event where lots of family and friends attended.
The night was packed with performers like Jennifer Hudson, who performed a string of melodies, Celine Dion took to the stage, as well as Usher , Yolanda Adams and CeCe Winanas. They all performed a song from the legendary diva to commemorate the mark that she left on the music industry. Check out the performances below.
Jennifer Hudson - "I'm Every Woman", "How Will I Know" & "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"
Usher "I Believe In You & Me"
Celine Dion - "Greatest Love of All"
Yolanda Adams & CeCe Winanas - "Count On Me"
Whitney Houston - "I Will Always Love You" (Encore)
What a great night! I loved the performances. Jennifer Hudson was getting down!! Usher oole smooth and sexy ass nailed it! Celine on the other hand, dissappointed me with her ENTIRE lip synced speech and performance.
Don't come onto such a great show and try to fool us like we can't see through that maybelene. I mean her entire segment was lip synced and I was just like seriously...? What a waste. Yolanda Adams and CeCe Winanas brought the house down. They had the family in tears. The song is so moving and touching.
Lastly, Whitney's encore looked similar to a hologram. I was like shut the front door! But then I saw that they were watching older footage on a screen. It was still touch and moving to see Whitney at her prime and still singing perfectly when she performed live. That's the Whitney I'll always remember.
