New Aaliyah Album Postponed; Drake No Longer Involved / by

Last year, the inter-web and music world was set a blaze when word got out that a new Aaliyah album was in the works. Shorty after the announcement, Drake hinted that new music was coming sooner than later. Then "Enough Said" was released as a new Aaliyah single which won fans over. After it's released it was announced that Drake and Noah 40 would be producing the new Aaliyah album which would have consisted of 13 to 14 never heard before tracks from the late singer.

Well, now according to Drake, it may not be happening on his watch. The rapper revealed that he is no longer involved with the project but does hope that a song that he worked on makes the album's cut. He said that he thought the entire process was going well but the producers wanted to take it in a different direction.
Last week, during Drakes CRWN series, he was asked about the status of the new Aaliyah album and his response was...

“I don’t know. I think the press got out of hand and they maybe had a different vision for it or something,” he said. “It was sounding great to me. Whatever they end up doing with it, I wish them the best of luck.”

He went on by saying..

“There might be a record on there with me and her, I’m not sure. It was great. It sounded really good.”
The good thing out of all of this is that there's still hope! I really don't care who produces it, just give me the music! I'm sure Aaliyah wouldn't have minded working with new producers as she did on her veery last album. It doesn't have to be Timbaland or Missy or Noah, just put it out! Along with her biopic!!
