Well, its been a rough couple of days for these two ladies. Rihanna and Teyana Taylor engaged in Twitter beef and had a few choice words for one another. They have been friends for quite some time and no one seems to know why or where their relationship took a wrong turn.
It all started over an Instagram video that Teyana posted of her singing Anita Baker's song "Caught in the Rapture". In typical Ri-Ri fashion, she posted a video of her stylist wearing a familiar looking wig (similar to Teyana's) and singing the same song.
Then Teyana responded and the rest went down from there. The girls even went as far as changing their Twitter profile banners to take even more shots at each other. Teyana deemed Rihanna as a cyber bully, check out all the juice below!
The video that began it all...Teyana singing Anita Baker..
Rihanna's video response whichwas uploaded to her instagram account.
After the video surfaced, Teyana caught wind of it and wasn't having it. She quickly posted this picture to her Instagram.
This is when the words spilled over to Twitter. Rihanna didn't have to really say anything because The Navy came to her defense as she sat back and watched. Teyana had enough and tweeted..
- Don't play wit me @rihanna fuck all this industry shit, YOU & I know each other VERY well. Throwing subs 4 wat? u got my #, don't show off.
- Y'all could bully everybody else & get away wit that shit but that shit ain't gone work ova here. so y'all could miss me with that NAVY shit.
- I sing caught in the rapture on IG then she posts her boy singing the same song, the same part, with curly hair and a snap back??? #PETTY.
- Petty is petty and shade is shade, bitch knew what the fuck she was doing.
It's clear by now that Rihanna has people to do her dirty work, so instead of Rihanna directly responding, she sent her pet Melissa Ford out to fight. Her and Teyana has words for eachother. Teyana ended her first rant by tweeting..
- I said what i had to say & i mean every word of it too. #DontPlayWithMe end of discussion. y'all have a blessed day
Then Melissa ran to Rihanna's defense and Teyana clapped back.
Teyana tweeted her response..
Then Teyana clapped back!
- Don’t let twitter get you F-CKED UP!!!!
- Melissa & Robyn never been about that life. Them b-tches know wassuppp!
- Sh-t I Hate Broke B-tches Too.
- Fuck hashtags & retweets nigga, 140 characters in these streets nigga.- HOV
- You Used To F-ckn With B-tches Knowing They NOT Gon Clap Back #yougonelearntoday #shortywhereyourheartat @rihanna
- I dont respect this @mforde11 I expected way better from you, you guys on tour got money and miserable #coke is a hell of drug.
- Let me stop y’all know RiRi punk ass be pressing charges??????????? #IDontWannaGoToCourt #FuckItGottaBudget4TheLawyerTho Rozay voice!
Oh she went there!! She pressed charges on Chris Brown. But Rihanna wasn't done. She updated her Twitter banner photo with this...
She was letting it be done that Teyana is a broke bitch...her words not mine! It compares Teyana's net work off $500 thousand to her $90 million. Then of course Teyana had to respond. She tweeted..
- 90 million won't stop u from gettin ur ass beat tho ???? #ImSleepTho yea I'm only worth 4mill & niggas so called don't even know "who I am" ????????
- Ya net worth & ya body count go neck to neck. #IndustryPussy
- @rihanna yea bitch after 30 albums u should be worth 90 mil!!!! Fuck u mean. ???????????????????????
Then she posted this as her Twitter banner picture. She used a battered and brusied photo of Rihanna which has caused a lot of controversy.
Of course, all of this nonsense has since been deleted from BOTH of their accounts. There may be a few tweets here and there, but the photos and all the shots have been deleted. But shortly after all of that went down, Teyana went to call the Hot 97 radio station in New York to address this even further. See what she had to say below.
On why Rihanna made fun of her:
I really don’t understand. I’ve been in the studio recording my album, minding my business, staying focused or whatever. One day, which was yesterday, I randomly was on my Instagram page and I had heard that she made a video. I’m not following her on Instagram so I didn’t get a chance to see it. I went to Twitter and someone sent me the video. I felt it was really harsh, you know what I’m saying? Because it’s like you got a dude singing “Caught Up in the Rapture of Love” with big hair, a snap back and some Jordans on. I just sung that a week ago. I put up a video a week ago singing “Caught Up in the Rapture of Love” and of course my hair was curly, so whatever.
So, for her to go and make a video, it wasn’t no coincidence. “Caught Up in the Rapture of Love” is not a recent song. She knew what she was doing. I know her very well and I made that very clear in my tweet.
On if she thought Rihanna was being playful or malicious:
I think that her fans are loud and they condone her behavior. She does this to everybody and it’s not always fun and games all the time. You do it. You get away with it. You tried me. You clap and I clapped back. That’s what that was. You didn’t think that it would go as far as it did but you can’t do that with everybody. One day you’re gonna bark up the wrong tree.
On Rihanna being a cyber bully:
I really do think she’s a cyber bully. I really do. I think she has dope music. I’m not no hater. Dope music is dope music. She’s a pretty girl, but that don’t mean you can just bully everybody. It don’t work like that.
On Rihanna posting her net worth:
We all know that these websites…those with the net worths, these are inaccurate. She went all the way online to find the lowest net worth which is false. Let’s get deeper, everybody thinks she’s worth $90 million and she’s ain’t have time. But she had time to go on Google, you had time to fix up pictures, you had time to make me your main picture, but still you tweet, I’m not gonna “@” her, I’m not gonna make her famous. At the end of the day, I work hard. You know I work hard. My s–t is gon’ pop regardless.
This wasn’t no publicity stunt. This wasn’t no free publicity. This wasn’t none of that. Clearly I was on her brain for her to even be making fun of me.
Well.....clearly we have a bully on our hands. Ciara, now Teyana....Rihanna girl sit down! Drama drama drama..I wonder what's next! Rihanna is doing what a bully would do...or a queen if you will. She will pick a fight, but heave her minions do the dirty work.
Since it all started with Ciara, her minion Melissa did the dirty work, this time her stylist began it all. But according to him, Rihanna is not a cyber bully and he said that she didn't mean any harm. He explained how and why he had the wig and praised Teyana's work but threw shade at the very end.
His name is Yusef and he spoke with EnStars saying.
"Honestly, I just finished making the wig. I started making the video. It was amazing, no malicious intent towards Teyana. I just think it was uncalled for. Teyana killed that song."
He went on to defend Rihanna by saying she isn't a cyber bully and doesn't have time to go back and forth with Teyana.
"She [Rihanna] could care less. It was funny. Thats whats so funny. It wasn't like that. She doesn't care., that's her personality. "
"Cyber bully is harsh word. She is focused, being Rihanna. She is not sitting around. She didn't grab her phone. She is the most kind and giving person. I just think for that to go the way it went, it was uncalled for."
Before he closed, Yusef did throw a slight jab at Teyana. He said that the Twitter war actually worked in her favor because she has a new album coming out.
"It turned into this big drama, but I guess it was all good at the end of the day to help with her new album. A littlepublicity doesn't hurt good or bad these days."
Do you think Rihana is a big cyber bully? Do you think they were poking fun at Teyana? Was it all staged because she has an album on they way? Share your thoughts below
